Ashley Trevino, MBA
Director
Ashley Trevino, MBA, has been in leadership for 20 years, the last 5 of those years leading AEL. Passionate about leading, Ashley is a firm believer that one of the most essential factors when leading is practicing empathic communication. Nominated by the strong team she has fostered, Ashley was named 2022 Adult Education Administrator of the Year by Texas Association for Literacy and Adult Education. Ashley leverages her amazing leadership and communication skills to forge new partnerships that continue to grow throughout the communities she serves. Ashley, a life-long learner and current PhD candidate, always works to become more awesome. Fun Fact: She’s a giant pain in the rear.

Maggie Dugan, MA, MFA
Assistant Director
Maggie Dugan has been an educator since 1977 as an English professor, as an ESL teacher. Since 2010 she has also served as an Adult Education administrator with Heald College in San Francisco, Denton ISD, and for the past three years as an assistant director with Grayson College. She enjoys swimming, hiking, and gardening. Fun Fact: In truly free time, you might find Maggie hard at work writing her fourth novel. (The first and third are available on Amazon: Link here)

Marcus Freeman, MBA
Assistant Director
Marcus Freeman, Sr. is a native of Dallas, Texas. For the past 10 years he has been involved with impacting adults within the Texas Adult Education system. Marcus was able to share his passion when he began teaching GED Prep and English as a Second Language course with Dallas Independent School District. He was provided an opportunity to make an even bigger impact when he was invited to join the administrative team with the Denton Independent School District in 2016. Marcus holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management, and has over 15 years of service to several schools and many organizations throughout the surrounding area of Dallas.

Mariella Changanaqui
Coordinator
Mariella Changanaqui was born in Peru. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the Women’s University of the Sacred Heart in Lima-Peru. Mariella brought a backpack full of teaching experience (26 years) to the adult education field. In 2015, Mariella started her career in Adult Education as a Site Facilitator, then as an Assistant Coordinator in the Collin County Area. In July 2019, Grayson College promoted her as a Program Coordinator and gave her the chance to develop professionally. Mariella and her husband are dedicated to raising their amazing son Antonio. He is 12 years old and he is not only a great kid, but he is also a wonderful young tennis player. They enjoy traveling around the world and learning about different cultures. Their next trip is to Spain and Greece.

Gisell Lumbreras Hardey, MA
Coordinator
Gisell Hardey has been working under AEL for 5 years and holds a MA in Adult Education from Texas State University. She decided she wanted to help adults reach their educational and career goals while completing her BS in Corporate Communications at the University of Texas at Austin. Gisell is from McAllen, TX where she noticed many people did not need to learn English due to it not being a dominant language. As a first generation college student, she felt a need to help close those gaps and ensure all parents also had the opportunity to continue their education. Gisell manages various sites in Plano and Wylie that teach FREE English as a Second Language (ESL), GED preparation in English and Spanish, citizenship, and internationally trained professionals (ITP).
Fun facts: Gisell loves traveling with her hubby, spending time with her rescue Scottish folds, Reddington and Doja Cat, and snacking every two hours.

Jackelin Casallas
Data Specialist
Jackie holds a BS in Education and has 12 years of teaching experience (8 years with children and 4 with adults). When she moved to Texas, She began working in adult education as a Data Specialist in 2017. Then, in 2019 she was promoted to Data Coordinator at Grayson College. When she started working with adults, she appreciated the attitude and commitment that adults brought to learning. She loves to watch her students progress through the data she collects.

Hailie Loomis
Data Specialist
Hailie Loomis was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas. She relocated to Plano, Texas 2 years ago. Although she has a medical background and experience working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She discovered her passion for helping others with their education needs. Hailie has worked 4 years in education. 3 years in a Kansas high school and nearly 1 year with Grayson’s AEL program beginning as an assistant and now working as a data coordinator.
Fun Facts: Hailie has 2 children, loves to read and is a self taught artist.

Vicky Mauricio
Data Specialist
Vicky Mauricio was born in Cd. Juarez, Mexico. She is caring, motivated bilingual educator,
and Interior Designer.
She holds her Degree as an Interior Designer at Universidad Autonoma de Cd. Juarez. She moved to the Metroplex in 1999 and started working as a preschool teacher in 2004. (15 years teaching experience)
Vicky started her career in Grayson College as an Adult Education and Literacy Assistant in July 2021, then In June 2022 as a Data Coordinator.
Fun facts: Vicky loves off road biking, also she is a Group X Trainer Certified In P90X and HIIT.

Katherine Martinez, MA
Assistant TO the Director
A California transplant by way of the military, Katherine spent her childhood moving from base to base but found herself growing roots in the Lone Star State. Once she blossomed, she took off to the Mile High City. After a few years in the Rockies, Katherine graduated with a B.A. in Organizational & Strategic Communication from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Katherine then slipped back into her cowboy boots and pursued an M.A. in Mass Communication from Texas State University.
Katherine now finds herself living in the DFW metroplex. She has taught free ESL classes provided by the partnerships between Collin Adult Education & Literacy and their associates all over Collin County. When Katherine is not at the Collin Adult Education & Literacy Headquarters, you can find her cuddling with her dog-son, Winston. Katherine enjoys building relationships and learning from those who cross her path. Wherever she goes, Katherine aims to connect with individuals to create a great impact that furthers the success of their futures and the communities they serve.

Linda Jacob
Intake & Assessment Specialist
Hi my name is Linda Jacob I was born & raised in Carrollton, TX. My background is Indian. I went to Texas A&M University-Commerce and received a bachelor's degree in Psychology & Masters Degree in Education. I recently got married and moved to Richardson, TX with my husband. I started my career in Grayson College in Adult Education & Literacy as AEL assistant in July of 2021. I recently got promoted to full time as Intake & Assessment Specialist. I'm so excited I get to follow my passion in helping students achieve their goals.

Thomas Butcher
IT Specialist
